Summer / Cleaning

Cleaning is essential if you would like to swim in a pool that has no leaves or debris.

It can be done by hand (skimmer) or by an automatic cleaner.

Automatic skimmers make cleaning less tedious.

There are several cleaning technologies; you will find the one that best suits your type of pool and your budget.

Autumn / Heating

In autumn, your heat pump will maintain the temperature of your pool so you can enjoy swimming for longer. You will still have nice days when you can swim.

Winter / Improvements

Winter is the ideal time to consider, budget and carry out your improvement projects.

For example, the installation of a heat pump so you can enjoy your pool for longer or an electrolyser for automatic water treatment or an automatic cleaner that will take care of the cleaning in your place.

Spring / De-wintering

De-wintering means ensuring your swimming pool is in the condition after the winter. This is important particularly when the wintering has been passive, meaning the filtering system has been shut down all winter.

Once the pool is clean, enough water must be put in to reach 2/3 of the skimmer level.

Then the water must be manually balanced (pH, chlorine, salt, etc.) before starting the electrolyser or another automatic treatment device.
Note that you must wait 1 or 2 days before swimming, for the water to be balanced and clean.

Spring / Heating

You can heat your pool to enjoy swimming for as long as possible throughout the year.

This heat pump is an ecological and economical device for heating your pool. On average, a heat pump can heat a pool by +2°C per day. You therefore need around a week for your pool to be at the right temperature (if weather conditions are favourable).

Spring / Security

French law dictates that you must have a standardised safety barrier to prevent the risk of drowning. Before starting the swimming season, you must make sure that this barrier still funcitons and meets current standards.
You can opt for a more aesthetic barrier (pool perimeter) or a device that will keep your pool warm (cover).

Summer / Water treatment

The water must be disinfected and disinfecting for swimming. The water treatment products must be checked periodically.

There are several water treatment products. Chlorine is the most commonly used: it is available in liquid and solid form (gravel) or is generated by an electrolyser (with salt).

The pH must also be balanced: a high pH (basic) encourages algae growth. A low pH (acidic) can damage parts of the pool.

Automatic treatments diffuse the treatment products continuously and can analyse the water to treat it only when necessary.

Autumn / Wintering

Once the swimming season is over, you need to shut down your pool so it will be conditioned for winter.

Two options are available :

• Active wintering : operate the pool pump between 2 and 4 hours preferably between nightfall and dawn, at the coldest time of the day. This technique is for regions where winter is not too harsh (southern France, Spain, etc.)
• Passive wintering : your pool will "hibernate" as you reduce the water level (10cm below the outlet fittings) and purge the equipment (pump, filter). In this way, frost will not cause any damage.
