In order to make the most out of your pool, it is advised to use a heating system.
An electrical heating system is not expensive to purchase but the consumption is really high.
A gas or oil heater can be installed, it is more expensive to purchase, cheaper to run but issues CO².
Heat exchanger
It is possible to use a heat exchanger which avoids to fit a heating system for the pool, by recuperating a part of the heat generated by the home heater.
The heat pump
The other alternative : the heat pump. This system pumps calories into the atmosphere and recuperates them with a system functionning on the same principle as air conditionners (this system can only be fitted outside, as it needs a great volume to operate efficiently ).
The heat pump is not an instant heating mode (not like gas and oil), it enable to make a slow temperature progression and maintains the pool temperature.
This system is very economical : for 1 kw consummed, you obtain 4 to 5 kw.
The heat pump efficiency is conditionned by the outside temperature.
Important : do not forget to cover your pool in order to keep the heat.

The perfect compromise
You can ideally fit the heatpump with a gas or oil heater. The heater brings the pool temperature rapidly, and the heatpump takes over and maintains the temperature level while reducing the energy cosumption. This system is ideal but requires a big investment.
You can find for pool heating as well as for domestic use and also other alternatives such as solar energy. |
