3 big types of filters are proposed : sand filter, cartridge filter and DE filter.

The sand filter

This filtering system is the most current.  The water is dispatched by a diffusor, and filters through a special sand bed from top to bottom. This special sand is made to retain the debris. The water is recuperated at the bottom by the  lateral and returns to the pool by going through the valve. To evacuate the debris in the sand, you need to reverse the water circulation in order to make the debris go to the top and send them to the waste this is the Backwash.

The cartrige filter

This system needs a filtering element. This element is generally made of textile or paper (for the smallest models)

The filtering support is male of one or several cartridges in synthetic materail or in vegetal fiber, folded in star sharpe to obtain a wider filtering surface in a minimum volume. The filtration is better than a sand filte.

The DE filter

The filtering material is made of fossile shells of miscroscopic algae called diatomee, which are of great porosity. The DE powder will glue themselves on the filtering panel making « a cake » where the water goes through. This filtration type is the finest.
